Rick Paulson – | SCAM Warning

Friday, November 22nd, 2013

Again, let me point out to the users of the internet, that if someone emails you claiming they were unable to locate your site on google, and that they can guarantee placement on page 1, they are a SCAM.

Today I received a nice solicitation from to be optimized, and I know for a fact that they use a bot to crawl google to find sites to sollicit, and they typically only try to get the first page of results.

So Rick Paulson, go ahead, and sell SEO services, 8669486929 or (866)948-6929 if you want to give him a call and let him know what a great spammer he is.

Or if you would like to see your page optimized, contact me. And Rick, if you are seeing this, you should stop spamming my clients.

The new World Record for Magento stores, from design to live, is 9 hours 33 minutes, as I completed it.

Done,. well almost done., I’m done with everything that isn’t product related, still going to have to do that,.

In the mean time, I’ve turned off most navigation and have made it static blocks in admin, also I’ve turned off the footer ad,. and some other stuff..

One more day of work and this will be ready…

Magento Record Continued

Tuesday, November 19th, 2013

Done with the header, top nav, and left nav along with the home page, and whoops,. found that I had an Internal Server Error,.

It was related to the .htaccess file provided by magento in which they disable track and trace, however the method by which they rewrite isn’t working so I replaced them with

RewriteRule .* – [F]

So, track and trace are disabled.

What else, included jQuery no conflict style, added a custom leftnav block that is included on every 2 column left page.

Need to add products and I can continue to build.

ARGGGG,. so off to the races,. and computer crash, boom, bang,.

Monday, November 18th, 2013

Now nothing works of course, as I was updating serious stuff int he admin section when it crashed,.

Going home,. I’ll fix tomorrow., 30 minutes spent today.

How Much Time to build a Magento Website

Monday, November 18th, 2013

Ok,. as I constantly say, Magento is a really easy, and painful platform to work with. What, oh, basically it’s really easy to get off the ground, and hard to make work well.

So here it goes, we are building another store from the ground up, and I’m wondering how long it will take me from design to launch.

Step 1) Agree on a design ( as this can take months/years I did it in an hour )
Step 2) It’s 15:18 on 11/18/2013,. and I’ve just downloaded a copy of Magento Community Edition,.
Step 3) Confirm first order,…..

Consumers Energy Website

Friday, November 15th, 2013

The consumers energy website is such a joke, if you want to make a one-time credit card payment, you have to enroll that card in auto-pay, wait for their system to take the payment, then remove the card.

Why can’t you just make it easy to pay my bill? Why do you screw your customers and charge convenience fees for services that are inconvenient?

Screw you consumers energy!
