I’m a die hard Toyota fan, and currently have two Toyota Celica GT’s yet when I saw the ad for the new Scion FR-S I knew it was “Made for Me”
The Scion FR-S is Toyota’s new rear wheel drive small car. It is built on a similar wheel base to that of the tC and the predecessor the Celica.
They are topping it off at 200hp from the factory, and we know there will be great speed accessories hitting the market soon. So today I went about finding my new car.
I’m looking for an FR-S Manual in the blue. My search started at my favorite Toyota Dealer in the state, Spartan Toyota of Lansing. They had a manual that lasted all of an hour or so before someone bought it. They do have an automatic in stock, but that doesn’t matter.
Next, I tried Dunning Toyota of Ann Arbor, as they are right down the street from where I work. To my amazement they have none of the Scion FR-S in stock; however, they do have a couple coming at the end of the month. The internet sales person I talked with let me know that they will not be selling the one they get at the end of the month.
What, the F***, so I asked, if I where to come in with MSRP + $3,000 that you would skip making it a demo and just let me drive it on home. She Said No.
I came from car sales, and when I had a customer willing to pay more than retail, I found them their car. They got whatever color, options etc they were looking for and they got it today.
Seriously Dunning Toyota of Ann Arbor, is your BDC trained that badly. Before ending my chat session, I made sure to let the Agent know that I would go back to doing business with Spartan Toyota instead.
